Negotiations UPDATES January 18, 2024!

  • County began by presenting the costs of the 6%, 6%, 6.5% proposed by RNPA last session. Proposal was rejected.
  • Bilingual pay raise rejected.
  • County agreed to the DPNP with the following contingencies: RNPA agree to County’s proposed Appendix C, RNPA agree to memorialized SAFE unit scheduling policies, and RNPA drop proposals 59 & 61- which are the NP ladder and NP Professional Development Program. Last session they stated that there was no funding available but this session they stated they’d still have to budget for it.
  • County asking for a new article- “Nurse Practitioner Lead Assignment.”
  • County proposed to pay educational leave hours for CEUs done at home but want to remove PTO vacation add back.
  • “…including but not limited to regulatory compliance or the need for immediate practice change(s).” added to Section 18.5 – Staff Meetings
  • RNPA rejected the last sentence of the 3rd paragraph in Section 6.3 of County’s proposal on 11/13/23
  • RNPA proposed adding OSHA standards to MOU but unsure if County is in agreement.
  • RNPA proposed adding 1 addition day of PTO accrual per year at each accrual level- County rejected.
  • RNPA proposed new Section 8.25- Specialty Pay which is a 2.5% of base rate pay for Service Line Representatives, Wound Care RNs, and Vascular Care RNs.
  • RNPA proposed to split the first year of raises- 3% for the 1st six months and 3% for the second six months starting 10/30/2023 with 6% year 2 and 6.5% year 3. County rejected it saying the cost compounds too severely for the budget to accommodate.
